At Gulf Coast Dancenter, we believe that learning never stops, no matter how long you have been dancing. Our Adult Ballet Workshops and Master Classes are opportunities to step outside your regular training, experience new teachers, explore different approaches to movement, and continue developing your technique and artistry.
Throughout the year, we invite professional dancers, choreographers, and experienced educators into our studio to share their knowledge with our adult dance community. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to provide an engaging and educational experience while giving dancers the opportunity to challenge themselves, ask questions, and discover something new.
Whether you have been dancing for a year or most of your life, we believe there is always something to learn from a different teacher, a new correction, or simply experiencing movement through someone else’s perspective.
Our workshops are open to adult dancers throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond. You do not need to be a current GCD student to participate
Guest Master Classes
Adult Master Ballet & Variations Workshop with Jared Allan Brunson
Friday, October 23, 2026 | 6:00–8:30 PM
Join us for a special evening of ballet and variations with professional dancer and choreographer Jared Allan Brunson.
This 2.5-hour workshop begins with a 90-minute ballet class followed by a variations class exploring the movement quality, musicality, and performance expectations traditionally associated with male classical ballet roles.
While dancers are often introduced to female variations, this workshop offers a unique opportunity for both women and men to experience the athleticism, movement dynamics, and artistry of a male variation. The choreography will be adapted to create an approachable and enjoyable experience while still challenging dancers to explore something new.
Jared is a St. Petersburg native whose professional career has included BalletX, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Ballet Memphis, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Ballet Virginia, where he also served as Associate Artistic Director. He is currently a freelance dancer and choreographer based in New York City.

Annual Adult Workshops & Intensives
In addition to our guest master classes throughout the year, Gulf Coast Dancenter hosts special multi-day workshops and intensives designed to give adult dancers an opportunity to immerse themselves in their training. These events bring together our adult dance community for extended classes, new experiences, and the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
Adult Winter Ballet Workshop
Our annual Adult Winter Workshop is an opportunity to close out the year doing something you love! Designed specifically for adult dancers, this special event brings together classes, training, and community in an experience that allows you to explore your artistry, challenge yourself, and enjoy time in the studio with fellow dancers.
Adult Summer Dance Intensive
Our annual Adult Summer Dance Intensive is a multi-day experience bringing adult dancers together for ballet and other dance styles, guest faculty, new challenges, and community. Whether you are looking to push your training further or simply immerse yourself in dance for a few days, this event offers an opportunity to step outside your regular weekly classes and grow as a dancer.
Who Are Our Workshops For?
Our Adult Ballet Workshops are created for dancers who want to continue learning, refining their technique, and exploring new movement experiences. Some workshops focus on foundational technique, while others introduce variations, repertoire, artistry, or specialized areas of ballet training.
Each workshop has its own recommended experience level, so we encourage dancers to review the details before registering. While some classes may be geared toward advanced beginners and others toward more experienced dancers, our goal is always to create a meaningful learning experience for those attending.
We also welcome dancers who are visiting the Tampa Bay area and looking for opportunities to continue their training while traveling.
Why We Love Bringing Guest Teachers Into Our Studio
One of the things I have always valued about ballet is that no two teachers approach it in exactly the same way. We may be teaching the same steps and working toward the same technical principles, but the words, imagery, corrections, and experiences each teacher brings into the classroom can offer an entirely new way of understanding movement.
Sometimes all it takes is one correction or one new thought to help something finally make sense. This is why I believe it is so important for dancers to experience different teachers throughout their training.
Our workshops allow us to bring that professional knowledge and experience directly into our adult dance community while continuing to create an environment where dancers feel comfortable learning, asking questions, and challenging themselves.

Located in Largo, Florida, just minutes from Clearwater, Gulf Coast Dancenter is home to a thriving Adult Dance Program welcoming dancers of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.
In addition to our special workshops, we offer ongoing adult classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, and tap. Whether you are looking for a regular place to train or simply want to join us for a special workshop, we would love to welcome you into our studio.
